What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment.

The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including 'Is there more to life than this?',  'Who is Jesus?',  ‘Why did Jesus die?’,  ‘How can I have faith?’ and  'Why and how do I pray?'.

We meet one evening a week, enjoy some food together, watch a talk on the big screen and then have time for discussion.

We are using the brand new Alpha film series, updated, relevant and engaging sessions designed to take the audience on an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Repackaged for today's audience, the films are emotive, engaging and epic in scale and scope. Nicky Gumbel and two new presenters, Toby Flint and Gemma Hunt, walk us through the regular Alpha material in a way that everyone can relate to.

When is Alpha?

Alpha starts with an introductory session Is there more to life than this?  See below about how to register interest for the next course.

This is an ideal moment to invite someone you know and come along with them. They don’t need to commit to the whole course, just this one week. It’ll give them a taste, an opportunity to think about what the next steps might be for them.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.  There is no charge to attend.

If you're interested...

If you'd like to join a future Alpha, please contact the church office now to register for the next course and the co-ordinator will be in touch to confirm dates and times.
